Essential oils benefits; there are many benefits and uses of essential oils. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years and are often referred to being mankind’s first medicine. In Egypt, essential oils were used in the embalming process and well-preserved oils were found in jars in King Tut’s tomb. Recipes have been found recorded on the walls of Egyptian temples in hieroglyphics.
There are 188 essential oils references (yes, someone counted) to essential oils in the Bible. Oils such as Frankincense and Myrrh, rosemary, hyssop, and spikenard were used for anointing and healing the sick. In Exodus you will find a recipe that the Lord gave to Moses for “an holy anointing oil”.
My niece and nephews were baptized a short while ago into the Roman Catholic church, and to my surprise, they used Frankincense to seal in God. I am no longer a regular church goer, but this was a wonderful experience! And the kids made us “smell their heads” because the anointing oils smelled “soooo good” (according to one of the nephews ;-).
Remember the Christmas Story?
In it the 3 Wise Men presented the Christ child with essential oils of Frankincense and Myrrh. There are also accounts in the New Testament that Jesus was anointed with spikenard oil.
These are just a couple of biblical references, you can study to find more and even if you’re not a religious person, these history records prove that essential oils have always been used.
Yes, it seems a bit religious with all these bible references. But I assure you that religious reasoning isn’t why we use essential oils. The history of these oils is actually quite fascinating and it is important to recognize how long they have been used for to gain credibility of using essential oils to those that are still a bit skeptic if you will. Some people roll their eyes with the mere mention of essential oils. Snake oil I believe is one term I heard recently. But it’s all good as everyone is entitled to their opinion.
The use of essential oils is purely for what you want out of them and they will only work if you let them.
The mind is strong and if you do not believe that a pill, or a potion or a lotion will not work, then it will not. You must be committed with both mind and body.
