Coconut body cream

I am calling this a body butter because of it’s buttery texture. It consists of  a simple list of ingredients; Coconut oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Oil of Gilead, honey and beeswax. It is ALL NATURAL, and made by me… and, you can find it in THE SHOP.

Discovering this recipe did not come easy. I have made many different  coconut oil face creams but none that are as smooth as this. I use it not only for the body, but for the face as well. Next, I am going to try it as a hair mask too…  a product for the whole body in ONE jar!

Because of all the goodness in the jar, it makes me excited to use it! I have been trying to figure out how to take all the good properties of my chosen ingredients and mix it into one jar of goodness and I finally nailed it.

Let me break it down:

Here’s my secret list of ingredients for my whipped coconut oil body butter…

COCONUT OIL

Coconut Oil has so many benefits! The list is long, so I will focus on the few. Coconut oil is said to help delay wrinkles because it contains Vitamin E which is known to protects the skin. The vitamin E in coconut oil can soothe eczema, sunburn, and psoriasis. Coconut oil is also antiviral and anti-fungal which allows it to help treat bug bites.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

Lavender Essential Oil is a common skin care essential oil. Lavender essential oil is said to restore the skin’s complexion and reduces acne. For someone like me who suffers from breakouts, I can tell you that with this body butter, I do not break out.  With its powerful antioxidants, lavender can also slow the aging process making this a wonderful oil for the skin. Like Coconut oil, lavender can also improve eczema and psoriasis.

OIL OF GILEAD

Oil of Gilead is not talked about too often but is one of the oldest infused oils on the planet. I actually make this oil myself through an infusion process with poplar buds. It takes 8 weeks to make a batch and its healing properties are amazing. Poplar buds are anti-inflammatory and analgesic. This makes Oil of Gilead is great for soothing muscle pain, minor cuts, insect bites and sunburn. I use it straight on mosquito bites and small cuts, it is quite amazing how it treats the skin!

HONEY

Honey is natures sweet nectar. Who doesn’t love honey? It’s topical uses date back to Cleopatra as she was known to bathe in milk and honey! The beauty secrets that honey provides includes treating acne for as honey is antibacterial. Honey is full of antioxidants which is great for slowing down the aging process of skin and it is extremely moisturizing and soothing.

BEESWAX

Beeswax allows this cream to set a little harder than straight coconut oil by itself. Beeswax helps moisturize the skin and also aids in clearing acne, psoriasis and eczema. With the moisturizing properties, beeswax can help with dry, cracked skin/lips and is anti-inflammatory making it great for many skin conditions.

So what does all this give you?

One amazing body butter! This butter has seriously done wonders for my skin… my bug bites go away faster and aren’t red… my skin feels AMAZING… Next up… I may just try it in my hair 😉 Stay tuned for how that works out lol! Give yourself some drying time after applying .. let it really soak into the skin!

  1. This looks awesome! I use coconut oil on my face every morning and night but I just might have to try adding the other ingredients as well because they seem really good for you skin as well. How much honey do you put in? Do you use organic honey? I also have eczema so this seems like an awesome treatment!

Wow ! This looks like a great mix. I had never heard of Oil of Gilead which is interesting. I will definitely look into it more. You product seems great with the lavender essential oil. Heading to your shop !

    • Hello Victoria! Oil of Gilead is amazing… best of all , the poplar buds are available year round! I learned of Gilead and how to make it from a good friend of mine who lives for the ‘old fashioned’ recipes… I learn a lot from him! My shop is growing as my product selection grows 🙂 I have made my own products for years but have recently decided to mass produce them and start selling them, this will take time and I thank you for your support!
